Shelby – Technical Bulletin 1/2008

Amendments to 2008 rules as below:

Tyres:

Tyres are controlled items, viz Goodyear Eagle slicks as supplied by Goodyear Racing. The total number of tyres (old or new) allowed for the championship races shall be 24 tyres. The tyres shall be prorated per race meeting in the event of any driver joining during the championship series. All qualifying and race tyres must be numbered and registered with SCRA. The onus is on the driver(s) to ensure that he records his tyres serial numbers in his scruteneer book and on the form provided by the SCRA before the qualifying session, the driver must hand in the form to the SCAR. The onus is on the driver(s) to ensure that the committee has registered the tyres prior to the use thereof.

23.2    Only registered tyres may be used for qualifying and the races, official practice tyres are free.  

7. Racing Regulations

7.8       A driver’s fastest lap in qualifying will determine grid positions for the 1^st race.

7.9       With reference to SSR 29, grid positions for race 2 on a given day will be determined according to a competitor’s fastest lap time in Race 1. Once this is determined the top 8 positions, in race 2 will be reversed.
