A great weekend’s motor sport

Clive Kennerley, in his lucky number seven car, won the Vodacom sports prototype 2- Hour Endurance race at the Phakisa Freeway on Sunday, 11 February. In doing so he and his Cobra club driver Dup du Preez,  who was drawn at a dinner at a local restaurant on Sat- urday evening, each won R10 000 in the Vodacom “Dash for Cash” com- petition. Tommie Liebenberg, driving his V8 powered Ford Telstar, made no bones about his intentions for this year by convincingly winning the A class in the Free State Saloon car championships. Pat Allnutt took the class B title with Charles Smit winning class C in his Volkswagen Jetta. In the Formula Vees Dennis Johns showed why he is the current SA champion by winning in front of his home crowd, much to his and his fans great delight.
