Motorsport, and especially the Vodacom Sports Racing fraternity lost one of its young stars. Tragically 21-year old Damien Frost lost his life in an aircraft accident last weekend. Damien, son of VSP racer Colin, made his racing debut on his 16th birthday when he shared driving duties with his mother, Poppy at the Bulawayo Three-Hour race in 1997 and moved to the Vodacom Sports Racing series when it was introduced in 1999. After matriculating at Midrand High, he took up a career in flying and qualified for his commercial pilots licence last year. His cars set the standards when it came to both appearance and preparation, but above all, he will long be remembered for being one of the nicest and most genuine people to ever have been involved in motorsport. He will be sorely missed by all those who knew him. |
