 - The casual press reader
 - Everyone who views the cavalcade to the tracks

The average motor sport enthusiast earns above the average level of income for his age group and represents the astute motor car buyer, and therefore the consumer of image “hi tech” products. It is important to note that the products bought are not only motor sport related, but fall into the broad above average in performance and prestige group. Products range from upmarket soft drinks to cosmetics and cellular phones.

TRACK TV PACKAGE

The Shelby Can-Am Racing series, is a part of the SuperSport family on M-Net. The benefits attached to this are enormous, including recognition as a major sport and being aggressively promoted on the SuperSport channels and via its TV Magazines.

As a result of the regular high profile TV coverage, circuits can commercialise their tracks with circuit signage packages for their own benefit and competitors gain additional exposure for their sponsors. The moral is: Pass a R 20 note through the lens of a TV camera and it comes out the other side as a R 200 note. Use it to your advantage.

The TV package is valued in terms of airtime exposure at R 9 000 000.
10 Previews flighted on SS2 on Thursday night 10 days prior to event with each category getting 8 minutes. This will be reflighted 5 times in the week preceding the race. 10 race Reviews of 90 minutes each giving each category 12 minutes of race highlights. This programme will also be reflighted up to the next Preview package.

During the 2004 season, a minimum of 24 hours, featuring the SA national VSP racing was broadcast on television in South Africa. Motor sport, which traditionally receives very little exposure in the general radio sport arena, has received unprecedented coverage on stations such as SAFM, Jacaranda, Radio 2000, 702 and Cape Talk, to name but a few.
